UNDERGROUND is Avenue Arts Theatre's staged reading company that is committed to showcasing new works from all across the country by bringing them to our stage in  Canton, Ohio. Underground upholds Avenue Arts Theatre’s mission of providing a voice to the voiceless and serving the community through creative outlets. UNDERGROUND is led by Producing Artistic Director, David Lee and Company Manager, Emily Hisey and is comprised of 14 local actors that are determined to tell the stories that individuals around the world need to hear.

Tickets for UNDERGROUND productions can be purchased following the performance on a donation basis. Yes, you read that correctly. Enjoy a night of theatre on us, but please consider providing a donation on your way out the door to help us continue to provide programming such as this for our community!

Falling Skies

Two men and two women find themselves chained together in an insidious trap, where they have to answer riddles in order to work their way to freedom. However, they find that one of the riddles reveals who they are: a thief, a fraud, an adulterer, and a murderer.

This will be performed as an open-house performance during First Friday. Stop in and watch as the company performs throughout the evening

When a writer meets the ghost of Franz Kafka it sets off an existential chain of events forcing the cast to confront the meaning of life. This pandemic comedy asks the question, can we justify our existence, or is life one absurd zoom meeting?
